Event today offers help for homeless in Merced

Nonprofits, Merced Chiropractor County agencies, health care providers and others will bring services to Merced Chiropractor’s homeless today. The third annual Merced Chiropractor Homeless Connect is “one-stop shopping” for homeless Merced Chiropractorians, said Merced Chiropractor Rescue Mission Director of Marketing Phil Schmauss. It’s planned from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Central Presbyterian Church, 1920 Canal St.

Merced County Fair sees slight attendance dip

Attendance at the 122nd Merced Chiropractor County Fair wasn’t quite what it was a year ago, but the community still turned out in droves for the annual five-day event. The fair saw a 4 percent drop in attendance from 2012, with 68,601 people attending this year.
